During January 12th to 13th, Dr. Manuel Hertel, chief representative of China-Franken Industryand Commerce Chamber of Germany, led a political and commercial delegation to Jingzhouto perform an investigation of the construction of Ji’nan Cultural &Tourism Area “China-Germany Ecological City” and conduct cultural exchange.Mayor Cui Yonghui of Jingzhou met the delegation and had discussion on furtherpromoting cooperation and mutual benefit of both sides.
Mayor CuiYonghui expressed his warm welcome to the delegation’s arrival and gave a briefintroduction of the development of Jingzhou’s historical culture and economicsociety. He said that, with a long history and brilliant culture, Jingzhou isnow in the stage of rapid development and seeking for higher-qualitydevelopment in terms of economy, ecology, culture, and urban construction. Lastyear, Jingzhou was defined as the second group of “China-Germany EcologicalDemonstration Cities”. He hoped that in the future, it would learn advancedecological ideas and technologies in the field of ecological construction fromNuremberg, Germany so as to continuously promote its sustainable development.Meanwhile, he welcomed more German enterprises to Jingzhou to invest and startbusiness, especially strengthening the bilateral cooperation in terms ofculture and sports.
Dr. ManuelHertel said, that Jingzhou and Nuremberg have much in common, which wouldprovide more opportunities for the cooperation between both sides. Jingzhou, asa China-Germany Ecological Demonstration City, can learn from Nuremberg interms of environmental protection and thus had a great potential incooperation. As a representative of Germany local industry and commercialcommerce, he would like to build bridges for bilateral enterprises to developmore exchange and cooperation in terms of pharmaceutical biotechnology,logistics, culture, and sports so as to realize advantages complementary to each other and mutual benefit.

During their visit in Jingzhou, both sides also heldChina (Jingzhou) · Germany (Nuremberg) Promotion Meeting, and political andcommercial representatives of both sides had communication about the follow-upcooperation.
